Cookie Policy

1. About this policy
This policy explains how www.cathedralcis.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies, what they do, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we handle personal information.
The website is operated by R. Curtis trading as Cathedral CIS Tax Rebates. You can contact us at cathedraltaxrebates@gmail.com or on 07511 201919.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit it. Cookies let a site remember things about your visit — such as your preferences or whether you have logged in — and can be used to measure how the site is being used.
This policy also covers similar technologies that store information on, or read information from, your device, including web storage, pixels and tags. Where we refer to "cookies" below, we mean all of these.
Cookies set by us are called first party cookies. Cookies set by another organisation whose services we use are called third party cookies.
3. The cookies we use
3.1 Essential cookies
These are needed for the website to work properly and to keep it secure. They are set automatically and cannot be switched off through our cookie banner, because the site cannot function without them. They are set by Wix, which hosts our website.
XSRF-TOKEN — security; prevents cross-site request forgery. Expires at the end of your session.
hs — security. Expires at the end of your session.
svSession — security, stability and core site function. Expires after 12 months.
SSR-caching — records how the page was rendered by the server. Expires after 24 hours.
TS* (various) — security. Expire at the end of your session.
bSession — measures the effectiveness of Wix's own systems. Expires after 24 hours.
fedops.logger.sessionId — measures website performance and stability. Expires after 12 months.
wixSession — security and core site function. Expires after 12 months.
server-session-bind — security. Expires at the end of your session.
client-session-bind — security. Expires at the end of your session.
oAuthState — security during sign-in processes. Expires at the end of your session.
_wixAB3|* — runs Wix's own A/B tests on site infrastructure. Expires after 6 months.
sec-fetch-unsupported — records browser capability. Expires at the end of your session.
3.2 Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors find and use our website — for example, which pages are most read and whether people are reaching our contact page. We use this to improve the site. These cookies are only set if you agree to them.
_ga — set by Google Analytics to distinguish one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years.
ga[container ID] — set by Google Analytics to maintain the visit state. Expires after 2 years.
Google Analytics is provided by Google. Information collected through it may be transferred outside the UK. Google's own privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Wix also provides us with basic visitor statistics using the essential cookies listed above.
3.3 Cookies we do not use
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. We do not run remarketing or retargeting campaigns, and we do not share your browsing information with advertising networks.
4. Your choices
When you first visit our website, a banner asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. You can accept them, reject them, or choose which categories to allow. Rejecting them will not stop you using any part of our site.
You can change your mind at any time by declining cookies using the floating cookie widget.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Instructions for the main browsers are available in each browser's help pages. Note that blocking all cookies, including essential ones, may stop parts of our site working.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is currently no agreed standard for how websites should respond to it, so our site does not respond to these signals.
5. Why we ask for your consent
UK law — the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 — allows essential cookies to be set without consent, along with certain cookies used purely to compile statistics for improving a service.
That statistical exception is narrow: it only applies where the information is not shared with anyone else and is not used by the provider for its own purposes. Google Analytics does not meet that test, so we ask for your consent before setting analytics cookies. Essential cookies are set without consent, as the law permits.
We will ask you again about your cookie preferences at least every 12 months, and sooner if we change the cookies we use.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we change the cookies we use or when the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Please check back occasionally.
